FAITH-BASED THERAPY

What to expect: Counseling from a faith-based approach is done only when requested by the client. During your first phone screening, you may let us know that you seek faith-based counseling. Your clinician will then incorporate spiritual principles to the issues you are seeking help with. Please note that for ethical reasons, your clinician is not allowed to share or impose her personal religious beliefs with you, but will professionally guide you in your unique spiritual journey towards healing.

For some individuals, faith and spirituality are central to their lives, to their values, to their decision-making, and to their health. Body, mind, and soul are truly connected, so it makes sense to incorporate spiritual and faith-based principles into therapy. Studies have shown that religion and spirituality may have a positive impact on mental health, such as increased connectedness to a community, sense of connection to something bigger than self, added shared meaning and purpose to one’s life, and resiliency to stress through increased peace, purpose, and forgiveness.
